Hotel Epping is rustig gelegen in de oude binnenstad van het middeleeuwse stadje IJsselstein, in het hart van Nederland ongeveer 10 km ten zuidwesten van Utrecht.  De vestingstad IJsselstein is omgeven door een stadsgracht en in het bezit van een groot aantal monumenten, zoals de indrukwekkende Sint Nicolaas Basiliek. ’s Zomers is een rondvaart door de gracht een echte aanrader.  Utrecht is met z’n bijna 2000 jaar geschiedenis één van de oudste steden van ons land. Een stadswandeling door de smalle straatjes van de historische binnenstad is zeer de moeite waard. Daarnaast zijn er de vele musea die de stad rijk is.  

Houdt u meer van rust dan kunt u genieten van echte Hollandse landschappen en oude plaatsjes in de nabij gelegen Lopikerwaard en Krimpenerwaard. Door dit gebied lopen prachtige wandel- en fietsroutes.

Small town hospitality

Hotel Epping is quietly situated in the centre of a medieval town called IJsselstein, approximately 10 km from Utrecht. The fortified historic centre of IJsselstein is surrounded by a canal and is in possesion of various monuments such as the beautiful Basilica. In the summertime the canal tour is recommended. With almost 2000 years of history Utrecht is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands.  A guided walk through the narrow streets of the old town is certainly worthwhile. Utrecht also has several musea. From IJsselstein you can also enter the beautifull Dutch countrysides of the Lopikerwaard and Krimpenerwaard. A perfect area for walking and cycling
